Each sub-species have their own special traits!
Due to specific gender traits for each sub-species trans Doublies are not allowed. However, your Doublie still can use “they/them” pronouns.
EGGS
Doublies are born in jelly eggs.
We can imagine these jelly eggs like a general egg without shell!
You can see through them, which allow you to see two cells that merge into a little Doublie body. After 12 months, the jelly is falling off, part by part.
By the look of the egg, you can clearly say which sub-species the baby will be, but not the gender.

Parents need to protect their egg because it can get damaged very easily (by wind, rain, storms, rocks...). Only Poison's eggs have shell that keeps them safe no matter what.
CRYSTAL DISEASE
Crystal disease is a very rare disease that Doublies can have. It is not a communicable disease. Only Doublies with weak bodies or immunity have a chance to get it.
Their body is slowly growing a crystal inside and takes most of the energy from the Doublie. Crystal disease goes to magic sources first. (Ex. horn - Unicorn-Doublies) After some time you can see that Doublie has crystal scars or parts.
This crystal disease was first found after Morgan went missing. People thought it was something she made. But after many years, they found out that Vecca has one missing crystal piece on her tail - it was sure that disease came from this accident. Nobody knows where or how Vecca lost her crystal. Every time they ask Vecca about it, she leaves silent.
Crystal disease and Kirin - Doublies
We recently discovered that if Kirin-Doublie gets this disease, their genes are strong enough to turn crystals into decoration on their body and beautiful ones! We think it's due to their strong connection to crystals.
RELATIONSHIPS
Doublies highly prefer to mate with other Doublies. There are a few sub-species that can't mate with each other - Posion and Bat are only one with rule. But being in love with an outside species (ex. normal pony) is also possible, but not so common.
Only female and male Doublies can have their own egg. Which will be one of the parents sub-species.
Doublies that mate with totally different species cannot have an egg.
For example:
Kirin-Doublie and Unicorn-Doublie can date, and have an egg that will be either a Unicorn-Doublie or Kirin-Doublie.
Please try to avoid adopting foals, just to go around the rule.
